The following are some of the questions most frequently asked by Land Pride customers in the Seeders category.

Why are my seed Cups melting?
Answer

The manual states to never place the Seed rate adjustment lever below 5%.

How do I slow the rate down enough for my seed?
Answer

The Small Seed box is an Option that will apply low seed rates with small seeds.

How do I calibrate the unit to set seed rates?
Answer

Look at the seed rate chart or follow the calibration instructions located in the manual.

Do I need a separate box to plant native or fluffy seed?
Answer

Yes. Some units have native grass options and that requires a separate box and feeder cup system.

Can I run the drill in the ground in reverse?
Answer

Only Pull forward, Reverse may result in damage to the unit.

Spreaders (Pendulum)

Why am I getting an inconsistent discharge rate?
Answer

Specific gravity of the seed/fertilizer can change from area to area. Different mixtures of seed or rough terrain will also effect the flow of material and can alter the discharge rate.

What spout assembly do I need?
Answer

Please refer to the diagram in the Operator’s Manual for your specific model (manual can be found on Related Products Page below).

What products can I run through the spreader?
Answer

Products of all types can be run through the spreader, but you will need to reset the seeding rate each time. Products such as fertilizer may have lumps and may need to be broken down.

What pattern should I use for spreading?
Answer

Please reference the Operator’s Manual driving chart for what pattern to drive (manual can be found on Related Products Page below).

What do I set the spreader on to get the applied amount?
Answer

Ground speed, PTO speed, and gate setting all effect the seeding rate. Please refer to the seed chart in the Operator’s Manual for reference (manual can be found on Related Products Page below).

All Purpose Seeders

What seed rate do I use when seeding _______?
Answer

All seeds are not created equal in size or shape, so for the most accurate metering refer to the calibration section of the Operator’s Manual (manual can be found on Related Products Page below).

What box do I use for ___ seed?
Answer

The main seed box is best suited for grass seed such as fescue or turf blend grasses. The small seed box is for those seed that are very small such as alfalfa and clover.

Is this unit able to be attached to a quick hitch?
Answer

Yes, this unit is designed to work with a Cat. 1 or 2 quick hitch.

At what speed can I pull the unit while seeding?
Answer

The APS is ground driven, so the metering is consistent with any speed. However, a ground speed of 3-5 mph is recommended.

Can I run this unit backwards while seeding?
Answer

No. The drive system on this unit is designed to only run in the forward direction. Damage WILL occur if the unit is pushed backward with the drive gear engaged.

Spreaders

Why is there no Agitator?
Answer

The tires will not get enough traction to turn it.

Why does my unit leak material between GB & hopper?
Answer

The gearbox is not centered in the hopper, Adjust the gearbox, holes are slotted.

What do I do if I cannot reach the lever for the gates from my tractor seat?
Answer

You should install a Hydraulic Gate Kit which uss one rear hydraulic remote from the tractor.

What do I do if I am metering too much seed?
Answer

You should install a Small Seed Limiter Kit.

Do I need to calibrate the seed rate?
Answer

If your seed is not in the seed rate chart, seed must be calibrated per manual instructions. This machine is not the most accurate way to meter seed.
